Eighteen years ago yesterday, I lost a dear friend and climbing partner, Todd Skinner—the most iconic climber Wyoming has ever produced. We both cut our teeth on the sharp granite of Vedauwoo while attending the University of Wyoming, where the seeds of our adventures were planted. I went on to chase alpine peaks, while Todd redefined sport climbing on the world stage. One of our wildest expeditions together took us deep into Mexico, filled with laughter and risk, before the tragic day he fell in Yosemite. Todd’s spirit lives on, woven into the cliffs he conquered and the stories we shared.
